My Advice on ‘Slice the Pie’ to Make Cash

I have used Slice the Pie since the summer to feed my spending habits while I don’t have a job. Despite the seemingly low payout per review, the money adds up quickly.

These are my tips that I used while reviewing in order to make the most cash possible.

  1. You have to be consistent– This means you have to do it every day. Do it when you get bored, when you’re winding down, or on your work breaks! Sometimes I review music while I play Battlefront and type before I respawn.
  2. Get to at least 4 stars– I am a 4/5 reviewer. Slice the Pie sees that I’m here to stay and that I review well, so they pay me more per review! I went from 1 cent per song to 7 cents per song, which means I get to cash out way quicker! I just had to suck it up during the 1-3 cents period to get to the 6-7 cents rate. If that still sounds bad, think about it- you listen to each song for at least 1:30, and make 7 cents each time. It’s a little work for a little pay. Plus- it adds up very quickly.
  3. Check frequently for other review opportunities- Slice the Pie isn’t just music; there’s fashion, tech accessories, home decor, and even groceries to be reviewed as well! They pay more and take less time to complete than music ones!!!!!!!!! You get a dime for typing if you like a shirt or a phone case. It’s so easy. If you miss them, they’re gone, so check frequently! I also check for new music reviews, so I don’t miss them either!
  4. Listen with an open mind- Don’t bash a song if it’s country just because you don’t like country music. Pay attention to the lyrics, production, vocal quality, and lyrics. Would someone else enjoy it? Be honest. Nobody is going to track you down and make fun of you. These are real artists you’re reviewing- be kind!
  5. Write down the lyrics of songs you enjoyed- Sometimes I really want to download a song, so I review and wait for the “Thanks for reviewing *song name by band*” and it isn’t there! To find a song, I type in all of the lyrics I remembered followed by “lyrics” and 8/10 I can find the song.
  6. See if someone wants to do it for you- Every once in a while, my sisters will review for me. I still get the cash, and they’re entertained while I’m watching them. If you can’t think of anything else to say, ask somebody else what they think.
  7. Like Nike, “Just do it”- Sometimes I don’t feel like writing reviews, but I do it anyways because I need the money. So I “just do it”, and I get over my laziness once I start making money. Honestly, once I complete that first review, I can breeze through 10 or 20 with no problem.
